Transparency…for everyone else

obama_smokingBarack Obama ordered the Federal Government to rethink how it protects secrets and is expected to declassify 400 million pages of cold war documents. According to the AP, Obama says that he expects that the order will produce “measurable progress” toward greater openness in government while also protecting the nation’s most important secrets.

So, he wants greater openness in government, so long as it isn’t about his background? I’m going to be honest, I think he’s a citizen. I don’t think he got a scholarship for foreign nationals. But wouldn’t it be nice if he released his documents from College? What did he do there that he is so afraid of having people see? Probably nothing. He probably just doesn’t want people to see what a complete loser he was in College. Maybe he’s afraid that people will scrutinize his grades and call him an idiot like they did Bush.

There are countless possibilities for why he doesn’t want the American People to look at the records about his life. However, withholding them while demanding that we declassify our entire security operation during the cold war is just hypocritical. But then, when has this President ever seen himself as anything but better than the American People?
